Position Statement:Through a comprehensive review process, identify and evaluate weaknesses in the hotel's internal control system, and provide trainingand best practice sharing to support the hotel in fostering a healthy financial control and compliance environment.
Position Summary:
1.Focus on Finance Operations related internal control, including but not limit to Revenue/ AR/ Credit management, Procurement/ Receving/ Cost/ Inventory management, Contract/ AP/ Payroll managerment, IT/ System management, etc.
2.Every week, prepare a trip report to identify findings during the visit to the hotel and distribute the report to hotel DOF, GM, Area DOF/Leadership Support, Area GM, RFD, and GCM Finance Controls & Compliance Director, hold communication meeting to discuss the findings and potential risks with DOF and GM, and relavent HODs if neccesarily.
3.Based on trip reports, identify the root causes of the findings or potential fraud cases if there’s any. Discuss the action plan with hotel DOFs and follow up with the plan till it is implemented and completed.Ensure that the red flag/potential fraud is raised to the Regional Level if any serious control weakness is identified in the hotels.Regularly compile statistics and report on the issues identified and the rectification rates for hotels within the responsible region, and assist in driving the improvement of rectification rates.
4.Conduct online or on-site training, share cases and best practices to all cover hotels regularly, ensure hotel Team Members fully understand of internal control requirement/knowledge and enhance the control environment.
5.Every year, update ICO checklist to ensure all latest internal control requirements are included so as to meet the new compliance requirements.Assist hotel finance department in reviewing internal control processes based on Hilton standard policies and individual property operations.
6.Actively participate in ICO team projects, including but not limited to Quarterly ICO Findings & Best Practice Sharing to non-Finance TMs, Big Data analysis, ICO Newsletter, catch up with APAC Compliance, Gantt Chart, etc. Proactively share common issues and review methods within the ICO team.
7.Engage in regular communication with the regional finance team to discuss findings and pending issues related to ICO Report, support regional compliance efforts, and propose improvement recommendations.
8.Continuously engage in self-learning and strive for self-improvement to guarantee the quality of work.
9.Actively engage in ICO Workshops and provide necessary support to strengthen team cohesion and influence.
10.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Required Qualifications:
1.Minimum 5 years previous experience in an operational accounting role
2.More than 2 years previous experience in a supervisor operational accounting role
3.Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both verbally and in writing, including ability to interact at all levels of management.
4.Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
5.Willingness to travel – as this role will require a fair degree of traveling around the region
