Sanya Mandarin Oriental, Coral Bay is the first hotel
of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Chinese mainland. Overlooking the South
China Sea and boasting a 1.2‑kilometre stretch of pristine coral beach, it is
an exclusive beachfront resort that occupies an entire bay.
Encompassing 12 hectares of hillside seafront land,
the hotel seamlessly blends Southeast Asian resort aesthetics with Oriental Zen
elements, creating a secluded and tranquil luxury ambience away from the
bustle.
While embodying contemporary luxury and Hainan’s
distinctive character, the hotel reflects the Group’s Oriental heritage,

About
the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Sanya within the Sales
and Marketing department, the Director of Communications is responsible for
developing and executing integrated communication strategies that enhance the
hotel’s brand reputation, drive commercial success, and ensure consistent
messaging across all channels. This role oversees public relations, media
relations, internal and external communications, social media, and content
creation, ensuring alignment with the Group’s luxury positioning and standards.
The Director of Communications reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
As Director of Communications, you will be responsible
for the following duties:
Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that
support the hotel’s commercial objectives, brand positioning, and
reputation management
Manage all public relations activities, including cultivating
relationships with key media, influencers, and stakeholders to secure
positive coverage across local, regional, and international platforms
Oversee the hotel’s social media presence and digital content
strategy, ensuring engaging, brand-aligned content that drives audience
growth and engagement
Lead crisis communication efforts, acting as the key spokesperson
when required and ensuring timely, accurate messaging in alignment with
Group protocols
Collaborate with operational departments to identify and showcase
compelling stories, promotions, and guest experiences that reinforce the
hotel’s luxury narrative
Direct the creation of high-quality marketing collateral, press
materials, newsletters, and internal communications to ensure consistency
and excellence in brand expression
Manage the communications budget, agency relationships, and
performance metrics to optimize return on investment and measure the
effectiveness of campaigns
Support sales and marketing initiatives through strategic
communication support for key campaigns, partnerships, and events
Ensure all communications activities adhere to Mandarin Oriental
Hotel Group’s brand guidelines, standards, and corporate identity
Carry out other tasks as directed by the Director of Sales and
Marketing
