    JOB SUMMARY   Functions as the property’s strategic financial business leader. The position champions, develops and implements property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property employees. The position provides the financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives while maximizing the return on investment. In addition, creates and executes a business plan that is aligned with the property and brand’s business strategy and focuses on the execution of financial and accounting activities and the delivery of desirable financial results.   CANDIDATE PROFILE    Education and Experience •High Diploma or Degree holder inHospitality Management. Minimum 10 years’ relevant workingexperience in a sizeable luxury hotel with at least 3 years in similar capacity.   CORE WORK ACTIVITIES   Engaging in Strategic Planning and Decision Making • Develops means to improve profit, including estimating cost and benefit, exploring new business opportunities, etc. • Analyzes information, forecasts sales against expenses and creates annual budget plans. • Compiles information, analyzes and monitors actual sales against projected sales. • Analyzes differences between actual budget wages and forecasted wages for more efficient budget planning. • Identifies the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts. • Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new business plans • Creates the annual operating budget for the property. • Provides analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for property managers. • Implements a system of appropriate controls to manage business risks. • Ensures a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability. • Analyzes financial data and market trends. • Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan which is aligned with the company’s and brand’s strategic direction. • Provides on going analytical support by monitoring the operating department’s actual and projected sales. • Produces accurate forecasts that enable operations to react to changes in the business.   Leading Finance & Accounting Teams  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example. • Communicates the strategic goals, the focus and the owner priorities to subordinates in a clear and precise manner. • Leverages strong functional leadership and communication skills to influence the executive team, the property's strategies and to lead own team. • Oversees internal, external and regulatory audit processes. • Provides excellent leadership by assigning team members and other departments managers' clear accountability backed by appropriate authority. • Conducts annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.   Anticipating and Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders • Attends meetings and communicating with the owners, understanding the priorities and strategic focus. • Understands and meets the needs of key stakeholders (owners, corporate, guests, etc.). • Advises the GM and executive committee on existing and evolving operating/financial issues. • Communicates financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviors. • Demonstrates an understanding of cash flow and owner priorities. • Manages communication with owners in an effective manner. • Manages property working capital and cash flow in accordance with brand SOPs and owner requirements. • Facilitates critique meetings to review information with management team.   Developing and Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals • Ensures Profits and Losses are documented accurately. • Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued. • Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines. • Develops and supports achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc. • Improves profit growth in operating departments. • Reviews audit issues to ensure accuracy.   Managing Projects and Policies  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc. • Reconciles balance sheet to ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPs. • Ensures that the P&L is accurate (e.g., costs are properly matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the proper accounts). • Ensures compliance with management contract and reporting requirements. • Ensures compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs). • Ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).   Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities • Ensures team members are cross-trained to support successful daily operations. • Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently. • Ensures new hires participate in the department’s orientation program. • Ensures new hires receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job. • Creates appropriate development plans which develop team members based on their individual strengths, development needs, career aspirations and abilities. • Conduct performance review process for employees. • Participates in hiring activities as appropriate.     Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer. We believe in hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive, people-first culture. We are committed to non-discrimination on any protected basis, such as disability and veteran status, or any other basis covered under applicable law. The Role of a Director of Rooms The Director of Rooms functions as thestrategic business leader of the property's Rooms department. Responsible forplanning, developing, implementing and evaluating the quality of property’srooms. The Director directs and controls the activities of the Front office, Club,Housekeeping and Residence. Position works with direct reports to develop andimplement departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brandservice strategy and brand initiatives. The position ensures Rooms operationsmeet the brand’s standards, targets customer needs, ensures employeesatisfaction, focuses on growing revenues and maximizes the financialperformance of the department. Develops and implements property-wide strategiesthat deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectationsof the brand’s target customer and employees and provides a return oninvestment to the owner and company. KeyFunctions Directly supervises the Department Heads inthe departments named above. Ensures thorough communications and follow-up onany problems, guest or employee requests or special requirements, and on hotelinitiatives. Interviews and trains the staff. Conducts Performance Evaluationsand disciplines staff when needed. Reviews and monitors schedules of staff inall departments in the Rooms Division. Monitors their activities to assure thatstandards are being met, staff is being supported and guest needs are beingmet. Routinely inspects all areas of responsibility in the Rooms Division. Resolves customer complaints from all areasof the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level ofhospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests wheneverpossible. Will resolve complaints in person, by phone or through writtenmessage. Develops relationships with return guests, group contacts and otherguests in order to provide personalized service. Assures that financial goals of thedivision and the hotel are being met. Monitors and controls labor expense, andother divisional expenses such as supplies and equipment. Works closely with Reservations,Sales and the Front Office to maximize rate, occupancy and total revenue.Assists in preparing business forecasts. Prepares Annual Budget for thedivision. Personally handles key accounts in each of the hotel’s major contributing market segments. Assists the members of the Sales team and other departments in securing business for all revenue generating centers. Hires qualified candidates for the Marketing division and ensures an efficient and effective organizational structure. Directs and coordinates the activities of the sales, event management, distribution and reservations, on-line marketing, traditional communications and public relations, to maximize generation of overall hotel revenues. Together with the Reservations Manager and Director of Events Management, Revenue Manager, Marketing Services Manager and Director of Communications regularly reviews all available reports and statistics and uses them as basis for developing strategies to address current and anticipated future market conditions. Builds positive working relationships with all divisions/departments of the hotel, ensuring the understanding of Marketing programs and the wants, needs, and expectations of customers / guests.     Job description 1. Provides direction in the development of sales & marketing strategies to ensure rate and occupancy objectives achieved. 2.Participate in sales activities by conducting sales calls and meeting with in house customers to strengthen relationship with customers, obtain customers’ feedback; Ensure all enquires received at sales offices are handled promptly and efficiently. 3.Conduct account review and analysis of tenant and potential tenant research, current market conditions and competitor information. 4.Develop and implement sales and marketing plans for long term, short term and daily stays; To ensure that sales targets are set up for all sales in efficiently used. 5.Ensure that the reservations is properly managed with phone calls handled efficiently and courteously according to standard set up. 6. Regular check on the rate control; monitor and review on all sales and marketing activities and results. 7. Oversea marketing in planning and executing advertising, database management and collaterals production. 8. To review and update all LSOP related to S&M whenever necessary. 9. Coach and counsel all sales associates to ensure timely rectification of performance; To make sure of disciplinary actions if required aim to assist associates in improving their performance; And review with their performance regularly. 10. Business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move accustomed shift as business demands; Be able to work over time if business requires. 11. Ensure products are effectively displayed in all distribution Channels / websites. 12. Ensure an effective E- marketing plan is in place and measurable. 13. Direct, lead and supervise the sales department daily operation. 14. Monitor efficiency of LSG, FIT, and marketing and revenue management team. 15. Perform HR functions to ensure all staff are selected, trained and rewarded to maintain performance standards. 16. Ensure all reports are complied in a timly and concise manner. 17. Any other related sales and marketing task or responsibility given by GM.
