Understand Howard Johnson International and / or hotel tax obligations, seeking the assistance of locally-appointed auditors or tax experts. Ensure all the requisite licenses are in place for foreign exchange dealings, imports, liquor, swimming pools, entertainment and so forth from the appropriate regulatory agencies. Review and ensure proper procedures and controls of purchasing, receiving, storing, and requisitioning functions. Administer and control cash management which may include investing in time deposits in banks approved by Howard Johnson International and/or the owner as stipulated in the hotel management agreement, as well as obtaining overdraft facilities whenever necessary. Liaise with both internal and external auditors in compliance with the Company’s requirements. Administer the EDP department and ensure that the hotel computer system and software are fully utilized, well safeguarded and properly maintained.
